MacDonald Golf Course – City of Wichita, Ks. GREENSKEEPER (Asst in Training)
MacDonald GC has an opening for GREENSKEEPER. You will work closely with the Superintendent and Asst. Superintendent in all aspects of daily operations of the golf course. You will be given the opportunity to gain experience and management skills through assignments and training and supervising seasonal staff members. Pay range is $17.07 – $24.12 Hourly. Starting pay is DOQ with approved minimum starting pay of $20.29 Hourly / $42,206 Yearly.

MacDonald GC opened in 1913 as the Wichita Country Club and has been owned and operated by the City of Wichita since 1951. The 6,958 yard course features rolling terrain with a creek running the length of the course along with 10 ponds that come into play. Tees and fairways are Bermuda overseeded with rye along with bentgrass greens. MacDonald is also home to the First Tee of Greater Wichita that features a full driving range and short game practice area.
November 2025 is scheduled to see the installation of a new irrigation system utilizing HDPE pipe and a two-wire control system. New pump station installed in Jan 2023. Spring 2025 will see the start of a Bunker Master Plan which will reduce the number of bunkers from 60 to 31 with remaining bunkers re-built with the Better Billy Bunker system.
