Job Title: Golf Course Superintendent/District Grounds Lead
Course Name: Marion Country Club
We are seeking a skilled and experience Golf Course Superintendent to join our team at Marion County Club and USD 408 School District. The Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and care of our golf course and District grounds, to ensure they are in pristine condition for our members and guests.
Salary: $40,000 per year, negotiable based off experience, with possibility of insurance and other benefits included
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance plan for the golf course and School District, including turf management, irrigation, pest control, and equipment maintenance
- Oversee all maintenance and repair of all equipment
- Ability to maintain records of equipment maintenance and chemical applications for year over year record keeping
- Supervise and lead a team of groundskeepers for both the golf course, and school district to ensure grounds are maintained to the highest standards
- Monitor and mange the budget for golf course maintenance, ensuring cost-effective practices are in place
- Coordinate with the Golf Course Consultant and Board of Directors to schedule maintenance activities around the golf events and tournaments
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in golf course maintenance
- Degree in turf management, horticulture, or related field preferred but not required
- Commercial Applicator license for Pesticides is required
- Strong understanding of turfgrass maintenance practices, irrigation systems, and equipment operation
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
