Overview: The Osage City Golf Course was built in 1941, designed by Will Gilbert. The course includes concrete cart paths, full irrigation system, practice putting green, driving range, and 9 holes of championship golf, spanning 3,150 yards consisting of 2 par 3's, 5 par 4's and 2 par 5's, all surrounding the picturesque Osage City lake. Grass greens were added in 1974. In 1994, an addition to the clubhouse was made. The irrigation system was updated in 2020. Fairways switched to zoysia in 2021 and 2022.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ablility to maintain a 9 hole golf course in maximum playing condition, while remaining within budgetary guidelines.
- Supervise all fertilization and chemical applications
- Oversee the hiring, training and supervision of all grounds/maintenance staff at OCGC.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, including programming, maintenance, scheduling, moisture control, pump station management, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of golf course maintenance equipment.
- Work in collaboration with the OCGC Board of Directors to coordinate golf course maintenance with customer and member needs
- Maintain positive relationships with Board of Directors, other employees, OCGC members and customers
- Support safe working habits and a safe working environment.
- Maintain a professional image with golfers, employees and the community.
- Ability to come to work regularly and on time, follow directions, take criticism, get along with co-workers and supervisors.
Special Requirements:
- Experience in golf course management, landscape management, or related fields
- Supervisory Experience
- Organized with attention to detail
- Communication Skills
Salary:
- $45,000-$50,000, Depending on Experience
