The Kansas Golf Course Superintendents Association is sponsoring a Legacy Awards scholarship program for the children and grandchildren of KGCSA members. KGCSA will award up to 3 $1,500 scholarships to to pursue applicant's education after high school. Students already attending an institution of higher learning are eligible to apply. The KGCSA member parent or grandparent must be an active member. Children and grandchildren of deceased members are eligible if the member was active at the time of death. Applicants will be evaluated based on academic achievement, extracurricular and community involvement, leadership and outside employment. They must submit an original essay of up to 500 words. The KGCSA Board of Directors will judge the applications and select the winner. Applications need to be received by August 27, and applicants will be notified of their status by Oct. 15.
